It Takes two – Switch Edition

It Takes Two, the Game of the Year winner at the 2021 Game Awards from Hazellight Studios, will be released on the Nintendo Switch on November 4th. This was one of several announcements that were extensively rumoured last week, but it’s amazing to see this acclaimed title finally make its way to the hybrid system.

In this platforming adventure game, a married couple on the verge of divorce are converted into dolls by their daughter. Rose then pretends with the two dolls to mend her parents’ relationship. The game is a co-op experience meant to be played in split-screen mode with a partner — or a buddy — or anybody you like (or even online!). The game’s several stages are influenced by various genres, and each one demands you to work together with your partner to proceed.

The teaser released by publisher EA shows how the game would look on Switch, which appears to be less fluid than its other platform equivalents. But we’ll have to wait till the game is in our hands before passing judgement!

The digital edition of the game will require at least 9.5 GB of free space, according to Nintendo’s website. There are also some tiny print notifications suggesting another download need, as well as how the Friend’s Pass requires the installation of a free trial – this may also apply to the physical version.

Our pals at Push Square liked the game and gave it an 8/10, calling it a “great co-op adventure” with minor reservations regarding the uneven storyline.
